The Department of Labor (OSHA) has encouraged compliance with CDC recommendations regarding universal blood and body fluid precautions through a mandate to all health care employers. This program is specifically designed for training of pre-hospital personnel using simulated field situations to demonstrate the principles discussed. Topic areas addressed include: HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C; disposal of sharps; linen and waste; protective apparel and equipment; handwashing; cleaning; and accidental exposure.
